Blast from the Past

Here's a 1981 video of the "Jazz Cookbook". Pictured here from left to right: Freddie, Jerry Watts, Scott Page and Bobby Pickwoad who formed the breakthrough quartet during their college days at Cal State University Northridge. The group soon gained air play on L.A.'s then #1 Jazz Station hosted by the legendary Chuck Niles, an ardent fan of the group. They self-produced their first "EP" called "You get the Best of Me" which was later released on Stack-o-Hits and re-titled "On the Threshold". This clip features one of the songs from that album entitled "Jamaican Jive" by Bobby Pickwoad.
